The experimental phase of SOUND method will begin shortly!
The interventionwill be implementedin Italy, in an Alzheimer day-care centre, and in Portugal and Romania, in older people care facilities hosting people with dementia, involving a total of 45 people with dementia and 45 trained professionals.
The SOUND method offers an innovative blended intervention based on music circle-activities and cognitive stimulation approaches which was co-designed by musicians, health professionals, older people with dementia, family caregivers and researchers, for its application in dementia settings.The aim of the research is to investigate the effectiveness of the SOUND method for the 45 people with dementia and 45 trained professionals, through qualitative and quantitative observations, cognitive testing, self-report and interviewer-assisted questionnaires.
